How We Compare Reef Snorkel Tours

Great Barrier Reef Snorkel Tour is an independent guide to the reef snorkel tours sold on GetYourGuide from Cairns, Port Douglas, Airlie Beach and the smaller reef towns. We don’t run tours and no operator pays to be listed.

What we compare. For every tour we look at the same things: how long you actually spend at the reef, the length of the whole day, the price per person, what the ticket includes, the rating and the number of reviews. Where an operator doesn’t give a figure, we write “not stated” rather than guess.

Where the data comes from. Prices, ratings, inclusions, meeting points and review quotes come from each tour’s GetYourGuide page. Every data block shows the month it was checked. Prices change often, so the price in the booking widget is the one that counts.

How we pick. A “pick” is the tour that fits a need best on those figures — the most reef time for the money, the best for non-swimmers, the shortest day. It is never a paid placement.
